Privacy Policy
Karou stores the carousels your AI renders so you can download them later. We keep the rest to a minimum and protect what we keep.
What we store
- Your email address, when you sign up or buy. It identifies your account and is where we send links and receipts. We store it encrypted.
- Your carousels: the slide text your AI sent, the template and format, and the rendered images (PNG, ZIP, PDF). This is the service itself.
- Your templates (Pro): the name and settings (colors, fonts, handle, footer) you chose.
- A usage log of calls your AI apps make: the time, the tool, the app’s name, the carousel and the result. It records the size of each request, never its text.
- Billing records from Stripe: what you bought, when, and the payment status. Card details stay with Stripe; we never see them.
- A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a readable cookie that only says whether you are signed in.
What we don’t do with your content
- We don’t send it to any AI model. Karou runs no model; your slides only come from the AI apps you connect yourself.
- We don’t read it, sell it, or use it for advertising or training.
- We don’t put tracking pixels in rendered images.
How we use data
- To run the service: render, store and serve your carousels, and answer your connected AI apps.
- To show you the usage log and your carousel list.
- To bill you and send account emails (welcome, sign-in links, receipts).
- To keep the service safe: rate limits, abuse prevention, debugging.
Providers
- Railway hosts the application, the database and the file storage for rendered images.
- Stripe processes payments.
- Mailgun sends account email.
- Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel may run on public pages, only after you accept the cookie banner, and never in the signed-in area.
AI apps you connect (such as Claude or ChatGPT) receive the images they request on your behalf, under their own privacy policies.
Retention
Carousels and templates are kept until you delete them or your account. Deleting a carousel removes its files and its text right away; only its creation date stays, so the daily limit counts it; database and storage backups kept by our host age out on their own schedule. Billing records are kept as long as tax and accounting rules require. The usage log is kept while your account exists.
Your rights
You can download your carousels any time from the app, and delete carousels and templates there. To delete your account, email support@karou.si from your account address: we cancel any subscription and delete the account and its carousels, templates, keys and usage log. Payment records stay with Stripe as tax and accounting rules require. You can also ask for a copy of your data or a correction by emailing support@karou.si from your account address. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights; we honor them.
