Terms of Use
These terms apply to your use of Karou (“Karou”, “we”, “us”) at karou.si. By creating an account or buying a plan, you agree to them.
What Karou is
Karou is an MCP server that renders social media carousels. AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code connect to it, send the slides they wrote, and get back rendered images. Karou lays out and renders; your AI assistant does the writing. No AI model runs on Karou’s side.
Plans and billing
- Free has the limits shown on the pricing page (a number of carousels per day) and renders with a small karou.si watermark.
- Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription: no watermark, your own templates, and a daily fair-use limit shown on the pricing page.
- Founder lifetime was a one-time payment for Pro, sold during the launch and no longer offered. Accounts that bought it keep Pro as long as Karou exists.
Prices are shown in US dollars before checkout and processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account; the plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for.
Daily limits reset at midnight UTC. The founder lifetime covers Pro as it is offered to subscribers; it does not include separately priced add-ons we may offer later.
Your account
You sign in with your email and a password. You can create API keys and connect AI apps to your account, and each one can render and edit carousels on your behalf. Keep your password, keys and connected apps secure: you are responsible for activity under them. You can revoke a key or disconnect an app at any time.
A plan is for one person.
Your carousels and templates
The slides you (or your AI) write and the images Karou renders from them are yours. We don’t claim rights in them, don’t sell them, and don’t use them to train AI models. Templates you build on Pro are yours too. The three Karou templates and the rendering engine remain ours; you may use the images they produce however you like, including commercially.
Rendered files are reachable through unguessable links so your AI can show them in the chat. Anyone you give a link to can open that file. You can delete a carousel, and its files, at any time.
Acceptable use
Don’t use Karou to:
- render content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing or infringes someone’s rights;
- try to get around plan limits, rate limits or security, or access carousels that aren’t yours;
- resell Karou or run it as a service for others without our agreement;
- send automated traffic beyond what your AI apps make on your behalf.
We may suspend accounts that break these rules.
Connected AI apps
Karou works inside AI apps we don’t control. What those apps do with the slides they write and the images they receive is governed by their own terms. Their availability, features and limits are set by their providers.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Karou available but don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted. We may change or improve features, templates and limits; we will keep your rendered files downloadable while your account exists.
Refunds and cancellation
Pro starts with a 14-day free trial, once per account: cancel before it ends and nothing is charged. See the Refund Policy: subscriptions cancel any time from your account.
Liability
Karou is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Keep your own copies of anything important; downloads make that easy.
